Adam Levine thinks dating a fellow musician would cause "too many problems".
The
35-year-old is happily engaged to Victoria's Secret model Behati
Prinsloo after proposing in July last year. But if the Maroon 5 frontman
ever did have to return to the dating scene, he wouldn't consider
dating a fellow singer.
"I don't think so, honestly, because I
just think it would cause a lot of problems," he told the British
edition of Cosmopolitan. "A musical collaboration is enough, and then
you add sex to it? Forget it!"
However in his film debut, Begin
Again, his character Dave does in fact date a fellow musician, played by
British actress Keira Knightley. Being a newbie in the film biz, Adam
turned to the 29-year-old for guidance.
"She's not only the
ultimate British leading lady, she's a real talented, serious actor," he
explained. "I was a musician, up there pretending to act. I leant on
her a lot for advice but I don't think that we ever had an actual
problem with anything, I think we were pretty free-flying. All I was
trying to do was know my lines and come off naturally and not seem like
I'm as much an amateur as I was."
Now the cast are on the
promotional trail for the film, which also stars Mark Ruffalo, Adam has
had the chance to watch his 'amateur' performance back. And thankfully
he wasn't horrified or embarrassed by it.
"I didn't cringe when I watched it myself so that's a good sign," he laughed.
